“Love never leaves — it just lingers quietly in the air.”

“Lost in the Air — A Song for Those Left Behind”

The Inspiration Behind This Song

This song was born from a story that broke my heart.
A woman I know lost both her husband and her son —
her only family — within just a year and a half.

Her husband passed away suddenly after a short illness,
and not long after, her son became gravely ill.
They searched desperately for a compatible liver donor,
but right before the surgery,
the doctor said the words no mother should ever hear:

“It’s too late. We can’t operate.”

She lost her son soon after.
And then, as if life had not yet tested her enough,
she fell down the stairs and had to undergo three back surgeries.

Sorrow transformed into a song.

I wrote this song thinking of her,
of the unbearable quiet that must fill her home,
and of the love that still lingers in the air —
invisible, but never gone.

“Lost in the air, gone with the breeze,
A bond unbroken brought to its knees…”

Though written for one person,
this song belongs to everyone who has ever loved and lost.
Because love, once born, never truly disappears.
It simply remains — floating quietly in the air. 🌬️

[Verse] My son my beloved son Her whispers fell like broken sun She held his hand till morning’s cry The stars stood still the night ran dry

[Prechorus] Wrinkled fingers frail and thin Time won’t let us win

[Chorus] Lost in the air gone with the breeze A bond unbroken brought to its knees The hand I held now fades from sight Lost in the air forever tonight

[Verse 2] A breath a pause the silent end The heart that beats cannot pretend A tear she shed that carved the stone The echoes whispered you’re not alone

[Bridge] What’s a hand without a hold What’s a story left untold The space between is loud and cold The air remembers the love of old

[Chorus] Lost in the air gone with the breeze A bond unbroken brought to its knees The hand I held now fades from sight Lost in the air forever tonight
